The University of Texas at Austin issued a news release today announcing the formation of a special panel of outside experts to review the Energy Institute’s report on the use of hydraulic fracturing in shale gas development. The panel will review the scientific integrity of the report and determine whether recent revelations about the project leader’s ties to the energy industry influenced the Institute’s report in an inappropriate manner.
